We are inviting you to the trip where you will see unique spirit of the nomadic way of life and the rich heritage of the ancient nomadic people. Kyrgyzstan is a country of great mountains and hospitable people. During the trip you will enjoy fertile valleys, snow covered peaks, mountain steppe, forests of Tian Shan firs and walnuts, gorges, rivers and mountain lakes etc.

Important

  • Activities can be changed according to the weather;
  • Accommodation conditions in Tash Rabat, Son Kul and some villages are basic nomad way (4-6 pax per yurt/room).
  • The weather in mountains in spring is still cold, so please take your warm clothes and comfortable trekking shoes.
  • Your own medicine for headache and stomach;
  • Money. You can take USD or EUR. In money exchange places in Bishkek, you can change to KGS (som – a local currency) both of them.
  • Shopping at local bazaars. Working time is 09.00 – 19.00 Tuesday – Sunday.
    Monday is a day off.

Itinerarios

Day 1

Airport – Bishkek (30 km).

Upon arrival, you will be met by our driver and guide. Transfer to the hotel and rest. After the rest sightseeing tour, you will discover the most interesting and significant places of Bishkek. Lunch and welcome dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 2

Bishkek – Toktogul (272 km)

After breakfast drive to Toktogul town which is on Toktogul water storage-reservoir, the biggest one in Central Asia. We will start our journey across the country by the road connecting the north and south of the country. On the way you will see very beautiful landscapes of mountains and rivers, the view will be really fascinating. Overnight in a guest house.

Day 3

Toktogul – Arkyt (250 km)

Right after breakfast we will continue our journey through the south of the country. Today our overnight stay will be in the village of Akryt, which is located right near the Sary Chelek lake. Upon arrival accommodation and drive to the lake. Overnight at the guest house.

Day 4

Arkyt – Arstanbap (213 km)

In the morning we say good bye to the State Biosphere Reserve and drive to another equally amazing place called Arstanbap. The only natural walnut forests in the world. Upon arrival accommodation and hike to the small waterfall. Overnight in a house of local people.

Day 5

Arstanbap – Kazarman (230 km)

Today our path lies to Kazarman. On the way we will enjoy beautiful views of nature. Upon arrival, accommodation in a houses of local people. The village is a visiting place for Saimaluu Tash petroglyph expedition. Overnight in a house of local people.

Day 6

Kazarman – Son Kul (151 km)

Тoday, after breakfast, we go to the high-altitude Son Kul Lake, which is located at an 3016 m. For several millennia, the tribes living here have been using this place for summer grazing. Lunch, overnight and dinner at the yurt camp.

Day 7

Around Son Kul – Naryn (230 km)

Today you will have a great opportunity to see the beauty of the alpine lake from the other shore. We will drive around the lake and go down to the small town of Naryn. The smallest city in the world where there is a trolleybus. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8

Naryn – Tash Rabat (240 km)

After breakfast we drive to see the medieval caravanserai Tash Rabat. It was built on the site of an older building in the 12th century, and ceased to function in the 14th century. On the way to Tash Rabat, we will stop by to admire the ruins of the ancient settlement of Koshoy Korgon. Overnight and dinner in a yurt camp. If there is a desire upon arrival at the yurt camp, take horses and take a horse ride along the Kara Koyun gorge (optional).

Day 9

Tash Rabat – Bokonbaevo (391 km)

Today we will go on a trip to Bokonbayevo. We will stop for lunch in the city of Naryn with a local family. The village is located on the southern shore of the largest lake in the country Issyk Kul. Overnight and dinner at the guest house.

Day 10

Bokonbaevo –Grigorievka (via Semenovka) (265 km)

In the morning after breakfast, visit the berkuchi house (hunter with an eagle). Then transfer to Grigoryevka. For lunch we will stop in Karokol, where we will also visit a church and a mosque. We will get to Grigoryevka through the Semenov gorge. Upon arrival, accommodation at the guest house. Dinner and overnight there.

Day 11

Grigorievka – Bishkek (297 km)

After breakfast we leave for Bishkek. Today the trip will take place along the northern shore of Issyk Kul. Lunch in the Boom gorge. Upon arrival, accommodation at the hotel and a farewell dinner.

Day 12

Bishkek – Manas Airport (30 km).

Departure. End of service.

    Som (Kyrgyz som) is the monetary unit of the Kyrgyz Republic. One som is equal to one hundred tyyns. Kyrgyzstan was one of the first countries of the former Soviet Union (and the first in post-Soviet Central Asia) to adopt its own national currency. The average exchange rate is about 85-95 KGS per dollar, or 95-105 KGS per euro. You can review the most recent exchange rate in: https://www.nbkr.kg/index.jsp?lang=ENG You can do it in a bank branch, but also in the center of Bishkek there are a huge number of exchange offices. When exchanging banknotes, they must be in very good condition and without any marks. Small denomination bills are exchanged at a slightly lower rate.
    In large cities, almost in any store you can pay for a purchase or service by credit card, but still cash is more welcome. As for the small villages and settlements, there is only cash.
    There are several mobile network operators in Kyrgyzstan. You can choose any of them: Beeline, Megacom, O! You can buy a SIM card in any shopping center, there are branches of various mobile operators. When you register you will be asked for your passport and offered the most convenient and advantageous tariff for you.
    For sure you would like to make a lot of photos and that's ok. In case of closed places or if you want to make photos to local people, ask first for permission, and remember to show a respectful attitude.
    There are mainly three types of public transport. Buses, trolleybuses and minibuses. The fee ranges from 11 to 15 som. (Less than 20 cents of euro). There is also a very good taxi service, with multiple companies and very affordable. An average trip by taxi can cost between 100 and 200 soms, that is, between 1 and 2 euros. There are shuttles between towns and cities. The cost depends on both the frequency and the distance.
    You can drive with your international permit and you can rent cars if you wish. But you can't taste a drop of alcohol. The traffic police can stop you at any roadblock and check your alcohol level. The tolerance is zero. If you have drunk, however little, you will have problems and you will have to pay a fine.
