Kyzyl-Oi is one of the settlements that existed since before the creation of the USSR and retains the peculiarities of Central Asian settlements. It is a good point to start our route that will take us through the spectacular Kyrgyz lakes such as Son-Kul and Issyk-Kul, dodging the beautiful curves of the mountains.

Itinerarios

Day 1

Airport – Bishkek ( 29 km driving)

Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Accomodation. Resting time. City tour.

Day 2

Bishkek – Kyzyl Oy ( 200 km driving)

The Kyzyl Oy village situated on the highway Bishkek – Osh. This road connecting the north and south of the country. Kyzyl-Oi is located in a narrow gorge on the riverside of the powerful Kokomeren River The elevation is 1,800 metres ASL. Overnight in a house of local people.

Day 3

Kyzyl Oy – Son Kul ( 150 km driving )

Drive to high altitude mountain Lake of Son-Kul (3016 m asl) over the Kalmak-Ashuu pass. Merge into the life of nomads. Free time. In the evening, we can watch the way traditional dinner is cooked, and try the national cuisine. Overnight in yurts.

Day 4

Son Kul – Tash Rabat – Naryn (160 km driving )

Early morning drive from Son Kul to Naryn town. On the way we will stop for the lunch in Tash Rabat, caravan sarai from XV c. During the way we will enjoy fantastic view of Kyrgyz mountains. The main highway runs from the Chinese border at Torugart Pass north to Balykchy on Issyk Kul Lake. It is known as the location of Song Kol Lake and Chatyr-Kul Lake and Tash Rabat. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 5

Naryn – Kaji Sai (188 km driving)

After breakfast we drive towards to the south part of the biggest lake in Kyrgyzstan – Issyk Kul. It is second largest mountain lake in the world after Lake Titicaca in South America. The lake’s southern shore is dominated by the ruggedly beautiful Teskey Ala-Too Range of the Tian Shan mountains. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 6

Kaji Sai – Karakol (135 km)

Breakfast. Today we will drive along the south shore if Issyk Kul lake. On the way we will stop Skazka Gorge, Barskoon waterfalls and Broken Heart in Jety Oguz (Seven Bulls).
Stay in a hotel, in Karakol.

Day 7

Karakol – Grigorievka (110 km)

After breakfast we will start to move and will drive on north shore of the Issyk Kul lake. Our point of destination is Grigoriev Gorge (“Chon Ak Suu” big white water) is a long and picturesque gorge. The gorge is famous for its wooded slopes and three mountain lakes.
It is very popular among tourists, as well as the neighboring Semenov Gorge (Kyrchyn) due to easy accessibility and stunning beauty.
Stay at the guest house.

Day 8

Grigorievka – Bishkek (298 km driving)

After breakfast way to Bishkek via the beautiful Gorge Boom.
The gorge cuts, in a general north-south direction, across one of Tian Shan’s mountain range systems. The range east of the gorge is known as Kyungey Ala-Too. A railway branch (from 1948, 180 km), connecting Bishkek city and Balykchy town, and a highway connecting Chui and Issyk-Kul oblasts pass through the Boom gorge.
Overnight at the hotel.

Departure

Transfer to airport. End the service.

    Som (Kyrgyz som) is the monetary unit of the Kyrgyz Republic. One som is equal to one hundred tyyns. Kyrgyzstan was one of the first countries of the former Soviet Union (and the first in post-Soviet Central Asia) to adopt its own national currency. The average exchange rate is about 85-95 KGS per dollar, or 95-105 KGS per euro. You can review the most recent exchange rate in: https://www.nbkr.kg/index.jsp?lang=ENG You can do it in a bank branch, but also in the center of Bishkek there are a huge number of exchange offices. When exchanging banknotes, they must be in very good condition and without any marks. Small denomination bills are exchanged at a slightly lower rate.
    In large cities, almost in any store you can pay for a purchase or service by credit card, but still cash is more welcome. As for the small villages and settlements, there is only cash.
    There are several mobile network operators in Kyrgyzstan. You can choose any of them: Beeline, Megacom, O! You can buy a SIM card in any shopping center, there are branches of various mobile operators. When you register you will be asked for your passport and offered the most convenient and advantageous tariff for you.
    For sure you would like to make a lot of photos and that's ok. In case of closed places or if you want to make photos to local people, ask first for permission, and remember to show a respectful attitude.
    There are mainly three types of public transport. Buses, trolleybuses and minibuses. The fee ranges from 11 to 15 som. (Less than 20 cents of euro). There is also a very good taxi service, with multiple companies and very affordable. An average trip by taxi can cost between 100 and 200 soms, that is, between 1 and 2 euros. There are shuttles between towns and cities. The cost depends on both the frequency and the distance.
    You can drive with your international permit and you can rent cars if you wish. But you can't taste a drop of alcohol. The traffic police can stop you at any roadblock and check your alcohol level. The tolerance is zero. If you have drunk, however little, you will have problems and you will have to pay a fine.
