Itineraries
Day 1
Irkutsk. Arriving day.
Transfer to hotel. Resting time at the hotel.
Day 2
Irkutsk-Listvianka (68km), overnight in Listvianka.
Wooden architecture Museum "Taltsy" on the way to Listvianka;
Chairlift to "Chersky Stone" hill with birds-eye view to the mouth of Angara (only river flows from the Lake);
Limnological museum (the most detailed museum about the lake with a virtual deep water submergion to the deepest point of the lake);
Dendrarium park walk (they will know more about siberian flora);
Historical Center of the village with the old wooden church.
Local fish and souvenir market.
Also boat trip can be organized on that day (by request).
Overnight in Listvianka.
Day 3
Irkutsk
After breakfast we go to the ferry, cross the mouth of Angara river and board the train which goes along the lake 85 km. Circum - Baikal Train. It is an old steam last centure excursion train. The part we are going to take is an old part of trans siberian railway. 9km of tunnels made in rocks. Minerals which we can see are unique represents of geology of the lake. Last stop at the lake - Sludianka from here we are back to Irkutsk.
Day 4
Olkhon island. 5 hours of the road.
Observing excursion to Shaman rock.
Olkhon is the heart and pearl of Baikal, it is the largest and most beautiful island of the lake. On this island you can see all the magnificence of the Baikal nature in one place. The wide steppes here are replaced by a pine forest, sandy beaches stretch for many kilometers.
Olkhon has not only amazingly beautiful nature, but also an interesting history. There is even a legend that the great Mongol ruler, Genghis Khan, was buried on the island.
The island is considered the center of shamanism, for a long time local shamans conducted their sacred rites here. And nowadays, shamans from all over Siberia come to Olkhon for the annual Taiglagan (prayer).
Day 5
Khoboy cape day trip (North of Island)
Cape Khoboy is the northernmost point of Olkhon. Outwardly, this rock looks like a canine, and from the water side you can see a female profile in it. An ancient legend says that the gods punished the proud and envious girl and turned it into stone as a punishment. The place next to the rock is remarkable for its echo, which is repeatedly reflected from the monolithic wall. Here you will see remarkable panorama of Baikal.
Day 6
South trip, exploring inner lakes and ancient walls.
Day 7
Small Sea area.
Stayng at Uuga cape, just in front of the island. Geography and geology of this region are impressive. Today we will visit springs which are rich in silver.
Day 8
Sarma Gorge day trekking.
It is one of the most beautiful gorges of Baikal Lake. Trekking is along the river.
Sarma es un pueblo a la orilla del río del mismo nombre. Se encuentra a 289 km de Irkutsk. Su población es de 80 habitantes. Descansar Sarma es popular entre los amantes de las actividades al aire libre y la naturaleza en soledad. Hay excursiones de senderismo, ciclismo, y actividades en el lago.
Day 9
Aya bay (moving closer to Irkutsk)
On the way exploring Tajeran Steppes, old cliffs, valleys, inner lakes, petroglyphs and caves.
Aya bay in the most beautiful and incised bay, from the nearest hills you can admire a panoramic view of the lake. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10
Coming back to Irkutsk.
Day 11
Leaving. End the services.
