We present you one of the most amazing motorcycle routes that can be done, to enjoy the cultures of Central Asia through Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. You will have the opportunity to see historical and mythical places, which were part of the ancient Great Silk Road.

Short description

A great motorcycle route that includes emblematic places in the so-called “4 stan”, that is, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. If you are passionate about motorcycle trips, you should not miss this one.

Important:

  • According the program in some places there is no hotel and guest house. It will be family stay rooms with simple services (shower and toilet outside, or without shower), laying on the floor. Please take your sleeping bags, warm clothes, some medicine.
  • There might be some small changes in the program due to unforeseen circumstances (border issues, domestic flight, weather, road repair, hotel availability etc).
  • In case of motorcycle accident or fall-off the driver the latter is responsible for the repairs and damages – 600 USD

We reserve the right to make incremental changes to the program due to changes in flight arrival times, weather or terrain conditions, availability of places in hotels or guest houses, etc.

Day 1

Arrival to Bishkek

Manas international airport. Transfer to hotel. Resting time. Lunch.
Walking in the city.

Day 2

Bishkek – Toktogul (275 km)

After breakfast way to Toktogul through Bishkek-Osh highway the most popular road among local people reaching the south part of Kyrgyzstan. The road is picturesque – it goes first along the river Kara-Balta with the rise of the pass Too-Ashu 3,200 meters, then descended to Suusamyr valley, located at an altitude of about 2000 meters.

Day 3

Toktogul – Osh (360 km)

Driving to Osh the south capital of Kyrgyzstan. It is the oldest city in the country (estimated to be more than 3000 years old). Osh is the second largest city in Kyrgyzstan, located in the Fergana Valley in the south of the country. Depend the time brief city tour. Accomodation in hotel.

Day 4

Osh – Murghab (412 km)

After breakfast drive to the border Tajikistan. Way to Murghab. Murghab is a high-mountain village in the eastern part of Tajikistan located at an elevation of 3600 m above sea level. Guests of Murghab may experience mountain disease due to the lack of oxygen.

Day 5

Murghab – Langar

It closes the Tajik part of the Wakhan valley large exotic village Langar. Langar – highest mountain village in South Pamir in Wakhan valley, situated at an altitude of 3000 meters above sea level. There is always cool and windy. Overnight in home stay.

Day 6

Langar – Khorog

After breakfast driving to Khorog. The capital of the Gorno-Badakhshan. Due to its position in the deep canyon, the town is protected from strong winds and sharp temperature drops in winter times, and summer in Khorog is relatively warm and dry.

Day 7

Khorog – Khalaihumb (Kalai – Khum) (245 km)

Early morning breakfast then drive to Khalaihumb. This region is more religious (Islamic) and it can be seen in conservative dresses and beards. People here are Pamirs, not Tajiks, a number of separate tribal groups with their own languages. Overnight in guesthouse.

Day 8

Khalaihumb – Dushanbe (368 km)

Driving to one of the most attractive cities in Central Asia, Dushanbe sits against a backdrop of mountains and is dotted with candy-colored neoclassical buildings and tree-lined avenues.

Day 9

Dushanbe – Samarkand (477 km)

Driving to Samarkand the legendary capital of the empire of Tamerlane. Thera are many historical places such as Registan Square and three madrassahs (religious study centers) surrounding the square: Ulughbek Madrassah (XV c), Sher-Dor Madrassah (XVII c), and Tillya-Kari Madrassah (XVII c) – covered with gold.

Day 10

Samarkand

Samarkand popular with historical places such as Gur Emir Mausoleum – tomb of Tamerlane, Shakhi Zinda Necropolis – ensemble including mausoleums and other ritual buildings of IX-XIV and XIX CC, Ulughbek Observatory, Bibi Khanym Mosque – built by Amir Timur (Tamerlane) in XV century and Siyab Bazaar.

Day 11

Samarkand – Tashkent (305 km)

Driving to Tashkent the capital of Uzbekistan. Here you can visit Abdul Kasim Madrassah, Khast Imam Complex – a religious center of the city consisting of the Barakkhan Madrasah and est. Explore traditional Chor-Su Bazaar. Visit modern part of Tashkent: Amir Timur Square, Applied Art Museum, Earthquake Memorial, Independence Square.

Day 12

Tashkent – Taraz (309 km)

Driving to Taraz the one of the oldest cities in Kazakhstan, known already in the VI century. In ancient, this city was the part of Silk Road. The city located on the Talas (Taraz) River in the south of the country near the border with Kyrgyzstan.

Day 13

Taraz – Bishkek (312 km)

Crossing the border. Accommodation in a hotel and rest.

Leaving

Transfer to airport.
End of the service.

    Som (Kyrgyz som) is the monetary unit of the Kyrgyz Republic. One som is equal to one hundred tyyns. Kyrgyzstan was one of the first countries of the former Soviet Union (and the first in post-Soviet Central Asia) to adopt its own national currency. The average exchange rate is about 85-95 KGS per dollar, or 95-105 KGS per euro. You can review the most recent exchange rate in: https://www.nbkr.kg/index.jsp?lang=ENG You can do it in a bank branch, but also in the center of Bishkek there are a huge number of exchange offices. When exchanging banknotes, they must be in very good condition and without any marks. Small denomination bills are exchanged at a slightly lower rate.
    In large cities, almost in any store you can pay for a purchase or service by credit card, but still cash is more welcome. As for the small villages and settlements, there is only cash.
    There are several mobile network operators in Kyrgyzstan. You can choose any of them: Beeline, Megacom, O! You can buy a SIM card in any shopping center, there are branches of various mobile operators. When you register you will be asked for your passport and offered the most convenient and advantageous tariff for you.
    For sure you would like to make a lot of photos and that's ok. In case of closed places or if you want to make photos to local people, ask first for permission, and remember to show a respectful attitude.
    There are mainly three types of public transport. Buses, trolleybuses and minibuses. The fee ranges from 11 to 15 som. (Less than 20 cents of euro). There is also a very good taxi service, with multiple companies and very affordable. An average trip by taxi can cost between 100 and 200 soms, that is, between 1 and 2 euros. There are shuttles between towns and cities. The cost depends on both the frequency and the distance.
    You can drive with your international permit and you can rent cars if you wish. But you can't taste a drop of alcohol. The traffic police can stop you at any roadblock and check your alcohol level. The tolerance is zero. If you have drunk, however little, you will have problems and you will have to pay a fine.
